7 Ways to get More Traffic to your Website
We’re all under pressure to create websites for our creative businesses and thank goodness it’s so much easier these days. Our websites are the shop windows into our businesses, they tell everyone that we are a bona fide business and that we’re here to serve. Our websites showcase exactly what do and who we do it for.
But. There’s so much more than creating and hoping. We have to make sure we have visitors, otherwise how will our ideal clients know we even exist?
Here are 7 ways to get more traffic to your website
#1 Blog Posts
Blog posts are a useful and impactful way to get more traffic to your website (not to mention the fact that it also keeps your website fresh and up to date - Google loves that!).
As a small business, there’s no doubt you have useful information, guidance and knowledge you could share that would be of benefit to your audience. So writing blogs from time to time, and then sharing would help to increase traffic to your website.
#2 Put Links in Social Media Posts
Creating captivating snippets of content to whet the appetite of your social media audience is a good idea. You can then invite them to see more information by adding a link back to your website.
#3 Using ‘Link in Bio’ on Social Media
The ‘link in bio’ statement is great……when it’s used in the right way. This is an opportunity to lead your social media audience back to your website. Stop using online LinkInBio Tools! You don’t need them. You could just as easy create a hidden page on your own website that houses all your useful links. So that when your audience goes to your bio to click the link, they are redirected to your website. And once they’re there, they might start to explore.
#4 Keywords & SEO
Using keywords in your website content is essential, and powerful, if you want to increase traffic to your website.
So think about the words, sentences and phrases that people type into Google searches when they’re trying to find information. Think about when you do this yourself….you’re literally presented with information from other people’s websites and their blog posts.
People often type whole phrases (long-tail) into Google to find information so it’s important to have these in your website too, to help you to be found online.
#5 Internal Links
Having internal links from different pages will help increase your website traffic. It will help visitors to stay on your site for longer by following your links. For example if you mention your pricing on your homepage, be sure to link that to your pricing page.
#6 Social Share
It’s always a good thing to have social share icons on your site to help increase traffic to your website. When you put interactions in place that get your visitors doing something, they usually do. So getting them to share useful information from your website to social media channels can only work in your favour, creating opportunities for others to visit your site.
#7 Offers and Lead Magnets
Having offers and lead magnets on your site is a great way to drive traffic to you. People love additional information they can get by way of a free download or special offers. So hosting these on your site and letting people know about them on your social media channels will help increase traffic to your website.
