Creating your own Website
Join me today where I address some of the common mistakes and issues photographers face when creating their own websites:
- Building a website without planning can lead to inconsistencies and boredom. So grab a pen and paper and plan; and do your research and see what others are doing.
Creating a website with too many genres of photography simply confuses would-be clients and you could lose out, because it's no clear to them what you do.
- Having a website which isn't easy to navigate means your client could go elsewhere. That's the last thing you want.
- Having a website that talks only about how great you are. Clients want to see that your service relates to them, so think about what you say, and save your 'about' page for blurb about you.
- Knowing whether to show your prices or not. This is always under debate, but the choice is ultimately yours. Decide what will work best for you.
- Creating a beautiful website and then leaving it out of date. Google won't like you for that and, again, you could lose out on work opportunities.
So if you're thinking about creating your own website or you have one which needs refreshing, these are some of the things you need to consider.
Don't afraid to be in touch if you think I can help you along.
Until next time. Dee xx
